Biorecro Highlights its Global BECCS Development at the Wood Mackenzie Conference in Houston

On October 8-9th, Wood Mackenzie hosted its annual CCUS Conference in Houston, showcasing global developments and future opportunities in Carbon Capture and Storage, including CO₂ utilization and Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS).

Adam Grachek, leading on Biorecro’s BECCS implementation and investment strategy, was invited to speak on Wood Mackenzie’s fireside chat about BECCS. Highlighting Biorecro’s unique 15+ year experience in the BECCS industry, the chat centered around how we manage risk, early-stage development, and scale-up of our operations and CDR commercialization.

Key discussions also emphasized that policy drives progress, with national subsidy schemes playing a crucial role in bridging the cost gap and building investor confidence for large-scale BECCS infrastructure. Collaboration is also essential, as developing the carbon capture and storage industry from the ground up demands a collective effort, where actors across the value chain work together and share risk to turn BECCS development into reality.

From a European perspective, Biorecro was delighted to exchange insights on the challenges and opportunities ahead with North American partners and potential collaborators, strengthening the shared commitment to advancing carbon removal and scaling BECCS globally.
