The evening news program Rapport 19:30 as well as the science program “Vetenskapens Värld” featured stories on Biorecro and the newly published report on BECCS in Sweden. The report shows how Sweden can become a net negative emitter of carbon as early as 2030, using readily available BECCS technology, at a cost at below present Swedish carbon taxes.
The science covererage in “Vetenskapens Värld” also included a number of comments from researchers, including Professor Louise Trygg at University of Linköping, who said: “The report focuses on CCS in combination with biomass, and is both an interesting and much needed overview, where the benefits of the technology is analysed, and where also the economic savings and other alternatives are presented. The report is even in many respects an educational and easily accessible textbook in the field.”
