The UN climate panel IPCC published their fifth Assesment Report in three parts during 2012 and 2014. The first report was published in 2007 and was rewarded with the Nobel Peace Price. In the third part, which is now being released in Berlin, one of the most important new information since the last report is the possibility of removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The BECCS-technology is pointed to as a key possibility for reaching these global emission goals. One of the scientific references that are quoted is the publication Global Environmental Change, that has Biorecro CEO Henrik Karlsson as one of the authors.
-The third part of the Assesment Report shows the importance of BECCS in the work on climate, and of course I am proud of having contributed to the collected scientific knowledge that the report is based on.
To read more about BECCS and the mitigation scenarios, see Working Group III, Chapter 7 on energy. More about the 5th Assessent Report and the work behind is available on the IPCC homepage.
