Biorecro exhibitor at the conference Tillståndet i miljön

The 8th of May Biorecro participated at the annual environmental conference Tillståndet i miljön, arranged by IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute and Swedish magazine MiljöRapporten. The program included a debate about the CCS technique between professor Filip Johnsson from Chalmers University of Technology who pointed out the important role of CCS in climate change mitigation and Martina Krüger from Greenpeace who proposed that the technique is untested and potentially dangerous. Biorecro’s CEO Henrik Karlsson asked a question which illustrated that the BECCS technique is something totally different than so called “clean coal”. On the contrary, BECCS is crucial for reaching the Two-Degree Target as well as the 350 ppm and 450 ppm targets.

We at Biorecro believe that the Greenpeace stance against CCS is counterproductive and unsupported by scientific research. With several incorrect and tendencious facts, Greenpeace creates an alternative picture of reality far away from the conclusions backed up by institutions such as Chalmers University of Technology and the IPCC.

The debate was broadcasted on Swedish Television SVT and can be watched here.
